Colorado’s capital City has seen endless growth and change since the City was discovered by explorers from Georgia in 1858. After the Pikes Peak gold rush brought in a large population of hopefuls, it became a supply hub for new mines in the mountains. In 1868 the Central Pacific Railroad began its construction and in April of 1970, the first train arrived from Wyoming into what is now known as Union Station. Today Union Station is a vibrant, buzzing transportation hub that includes a stunning terminal, delicious restaurants, specialty shops and more. From the mile-long pedestrian outdoor mall to the Denver Performing Arts Complex and over to the nearby sports stadiums, anyone can find his/her niche in this metropolitan city. With walk/bike trails through the City and a short drive from the Rocky Mountains, Denver offers an active lifestyle for both outdoor adventurers and City-dwellers.
